(النادي العربي Al-Nadi Al-Arabi) Arabic Literary Society


The department runs an active Arabic Literary Society called “Al-Nadi Al-Arabi”. The society organizes various literary programs such as seminars, talks, symposiums, and competitions related to the Arabic language, including Arabic writing skills, Arabic calligraphy, poems, and speeches, throughout the academic session.

Below is the list of programs:

* To make quality the defining element of higher education in India through a combination of self and external quality evaluation, promotion and sustenance initiatives
* Zakir Husain Delhi College (Evening) organized an online lecture by Prof. Dr. Naimul Hasan, Head of the Department of Arabic, University of Delhi, on the topic "Influence of Arabic Language on Indian Languages" on 25 February 2022.
* Zakir Husain Delhi College (Evening) organized an online lecture by Prof. Dr. Mujeebur Rahman, Former Head of the Department of Arabic, JNU, on the topic "Significance of Arabic Language as a Modern and International Language" on 26 February 2022.
* The Arabic Department, in collaboration with the Persian Department, organized an extension lecture on 19 February 2020 at 5:00 P.M. in the A.V. room of the college. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Abdul Majid Qazi (Dept. of Arabic, J.M.I., New Delhi) on the topic "Influence of the Arabic Language on Oriental Culture" and Prof. Iraq Reza Zaidi (Former Head, Dept. of Persian, J.M.I., New Delhi) on the topic "Indo-Persian Literature: Poetry".
* The Arabic Department, in collaboration with the Persian Department, organized another extension lecture by Prof. Dr. Wali Akhtar (Former Head, Dept. of Arabic, University of Delhi) on the topic "Importance of Arabic & Persian Literature in India" on Thursday, 7 March 2019, in the Seminar room of the college. This program was presided over by Prof. Dr. Hasnain Akhtar (Dept. of Arabic, University of Delhi) and Dr. Jameel-ur-Rehman (Dept. of Persian, Zakir Husain Delhi College).
* The Department of Arabic, in collaboration with the Persian Department, organized an educational tour of historical monuments of Delhi on 23 February 2019. Around 50 students of Arabic & Persian along with faculties from their respective departments participated in this educational tour.
* The Arabic Department organized an Inter-college Calligraphy competition in the academic year 2021-22. Around 30 students participated in this program.
